A Pale Girls Guide To Contour

In my current make up favourites, I mentioned the Illamasqua Cream Pigment in Hollow, now, a product that is a staple in my make-up routine.

Contouring has become a trend within make-up over the past couple of years. I was afraid of it up until a year ago, and even now I am sceptical, mainly as there aren’t many contour products on the market for us pale types.

I firstly discovered my Nars Contour Blush in Olympia, however I sometimes find that the powder will fade throughout the day.

All over the blogging world Illamasqua’s pigment in Hollow makes a common appearance, dubbed as the perfect cream contour for fair skin- and I couldn’t agree more with this statement.

I can’t remember if I have ever mentioned that I use a Mac Mineralize Skin Finish in Medium Plus as a bronzer, simply as most bronzers are too ‘dirty’ for my skin tone. Medium Plus is a golden colour on my skin tone, and works well enough for me to use as a bronzer, and sometimes a contour if I want a simple dose of colour on the cheeks. Hollow is a grey/cool toned brown with golden hues. When first used, the formula was a little more solid, which made me apprehensive, however, now after a couple of uses it’s a really lovely product. Easily blendable and no obvious harsh lines, I use this with a Real Techniques Contour Brush to apply it to my non existent cheek bones, then blend it out with a buffing brush. This product will be a staple in my make-up bag forever.

To conclude, these three products are my go to for my contour needs, and frankly it is a need- these hamster cheeks need all the help we can get.
