Book Review: All I Know Now by Carrie Hope Fletcher

Its needless to say that if you have read this blog before, you will know I love Carrie. There is no ifs or buts, I do love her, and I would definitely class myself as a hopeful.

Carrie is pretty much living my dream, like I said, if you have read this blog before (endless self promo here...) you will know that Fantine in Les Mis is my dream role (and she is the equally as appealing Eponine), and to get one of the many crazy ideas that flutter around in my brain published is another. Literally. Living. My. Dream.

I pre-ordered this book months and months ago, ready for the day it was published to go and collect it. On the 22nd of April, the day before this book was published,  I had a couple of hours to kill in town, yet I was almost certain that my book wasn't there to collect yet, and knew that I could go into town from school on Thursday to collect it. Just as I got home the text came through my phone to say that the book was in stock.

I collected the book on Thursday and rushed everything I needed to do before in order to sit down and read as much of it as I physically could. I sat down around 6pm, and at 8:15pm I emerged from the living room to declare that I had finished the book- and I loved it!

I cried, I smiled, I agreed and I laughed. For me being 17 its a brilliant book for me to be reading right now, as I found myself agreeing/relating to scenarios that Carrie had written about.

One chapter I had been particularly interested in reading in was 'Act 6: I Dreamed A Dream', as I was interested on reading more about Carrie's journey to her career, and her top tips and advice for those in the future.

However the chapter that hit me the most was Act 1 & Act 7, as it made me realise how much I had maybe been 'used' by different people over the years (hence the crying...). Since reading the book I almost had a different outlook on friendship and life in general, simply because sometimes hearing something you have needed to hear for a while from someone else is all it takes to change for the good.

I'm really not the best at book reviews, but simply go and buy the book if you just need to gather your thoughts once in a while.

I'm already planning the next day I can sit down and re-read it, just to gather my thoughts and feelings once again!
