Book Review: All I Know Now by Carrie Hope Fletcher

Its needless to say that if you have read this blog before, you will know I love Carrie. There is no ifs or buts, I do love her, and I would definitely class myself as a hopeful.

Carrie is pretty much living my dream, like I said, if you have read this blog before (endless self promo here...) you will know that Fantine in Les Mis is my dream role (and she is the equally as appealing Eponine), and to get one of the many crazy ideas that flutter around in my brain published is another. Literally. Living. My. Dream.

I pre-ordered this book months and months ago, ready for the day it was published to go and collect it. On the 22nd of April, the day before this book was published,  I had a couple of hours to kill in town, yet I was almost certain that my book wasn't there to collect yet, and knew that I could go into town from school on Thursday to collect it. Just as I got home the text came through my phone to say that the book was in stock.

I collected the book on Thursday and rushed everything I needed to do before in order to sit down and read as much of it as I physically could. I sat down around 6pm, and at 8:15pm I emerged from the living room to declare that I had finished the book- and I loved it!

I cried, I smiled, I agreed and I laughed. For me being 17 its a brilliant book for me to be reading right now, as I found myself agreeing/relating to scenarios that Carrie had written about.

One chapter I had been particularly interested in reading in was 'Act 6: I Dreamed A Dream', as I was interested on reading more about Carrie's journey to her career, and her top tips and advice for those in the future.

However the chapter that hit me the most was Act 1 & Act 7, as it made me realise how much I had maybe been 'used' by different people over the years (hence the crying...). Since reading the book I almost had a different outlook on friendship and life in general, simply because sometimes hearing something you have needed to hear for a while from someone else is all it takes to change for the good.

I'm really not the best at book reviews, but simply go and buy the book if you just need to gather your thoughts once in a while.

I'm already planning the next day I can sit down and re-read it, just to gather my thoughts and feelings once again!

Chanel Rouge Coco Lipstick Review

These types of blogposts are possibly the nicest to write, simply because of my obsession with lipstick.

I will say, I will always be truthful when reviewing a product, and I haven't been sent this to review.

When I first heard of these new lipsticks being launched, I was both excited to see the new formula and colour range.

The range is made up of 24 colours, ranging from neutrals to corals and bright fuchsias and reds.

One thing that really stood out for me personally was the names of the lipsticks, all named after significant people in Coco Chanel's life.

I was drawn to the shade Emilienne, a pinky/plum shade and is one that isn't really in my collection.

The only thing that did put me off briefly was the fact that it wasn't a matte lipstick, especially as it is a brighter colour, however I was still sure to test the longevity and wear, and it didn't not impress!

The formula has hydrating properties, meaning that you don't need to worry about carrying around a lip balm whilst touching up (especially if you suffer chapped lips).

Whilst it may not last as well as a matte lipstick, it certainly wasn't awful. I found myself checking the colour regularly, and it definitely fades evenly, meaning for me that it may not stay the perfect colour all the time, it doesn't look like I have the 90's lip line look happening.

Overall, I am very very happy with these lipsticks, and with a £26 price tag, its a little pricey, however definitely worth the chic vibe that comes with all things Chanel.

Have you tried any of the lipsticks in the range? Which one is your favourite?

Borneo | Reflecting on the Past...♡

Todays post is a bit of a different one for this blog, as we are once again sidetracking ourselves from the beauty, and going to more of the reflective 'thinking' part.

I definitely do not think about/enjoy the past as much as I should, if anything all I do is constantly imagine an incredible future I would love to live, and it goes without saying that going to Borneo in 2013 was the best experience of my life. Period.

The process initially started at the end of 2011, where I was selected along with 11 other girls from the South/South West UK Girl Guiding to go on a trip of a lifetime, working on local community projects, climbing Mount Kinabalu, and having lots of fun along the way!

I didn't take may photos on the trip, due to having a rather crap camera, so I just stole other peoples photos along the way, and the collection that I have is ok, so the only way I can choose to remember my wonderful trip is by thinking back to the two weeks, or simply asking the girls!

Now whilst the trip was crazy (this is where the post gets emotional...) my three closest friends (on the trip (and probably generally) ) Emma, Livi and Becca most definitely got me through it and made it incredible. We all still keep in contact with each other now, and I really owe an awful lot too them all. We all bring out the best in each other, as well as probably share too much with each other, but if I am completely honest, they are the three that helped me change an outlook on life, I suddenly was unsure about Sixth Form, School, A Levels and University whilst on the trip, and had an awful lot of self doubt, but those girlies know how to talk a girl into feeling happy again!

To conclude, before I start sobbing into my laptop, always reflect on the good times, especially as they may clear up the bad

Channelling my inner Monica...

Anyone who knows me would probably say that I am stupidly organised. Yes, I can be incredibly untidy at times, but I always know what is happening with my life, whether this be to do with school work or a doctors appointment, everything has to be organised.

Any excuse to colour code something, or organise a friends school folder and add page numbers is honestly my idea of heaven! I struggle with diaries, simply because anything I may have planned could change for any given reason at any moment, plus I haven't found a 'diary/filing' I love yet- but I sure when I do I will be in love with the diary!

Sure, I can accept things not necessarily going to plan, but if I don't know what is happening the day ahead, I go into panic mode...(or laziness, simply because in my head I have 'nothing' to do, even though I have lots!)

Now, this blog was originally intended for Beauty (and singing), and this post does have some beauty relevance! A while ago I posted a blog all about the pictures I had uploaded to Instagram in that week, one of which being a picture of my notebook, on a specific page where I had planned what exact Muji storage I was going to buy for my make-up and what items were going to specifically go into each drawers.

Well today (3rd April), I took the next step, I did a diagram and coded how I was going to finish my MAC Palettes(eventually I might add), as well as putting all of my make-up into sandwich bags ready for the day I can afford Muji storage to organise it all!

At the beginning of the year, I made the pact to organise my life a bit more, and not end up as stressed as I was at the end of 2014, and whilst the stress bit might not have completely worked out for me, everything seems to be coming together, and I hope I am doing Monica proud!

Whether you celebrate the holiday through religion or not, I hope the day is equally as enjoyable for you as it should be for me!

Do you celebrate Easter? What do you do on Easter Sunday?

A New Start?

April is possibly my favourite 'non-seasonal' month of the year, sure it has Easter, but generally, when I think of April, I tend to smile.

Lots of poopy life things seem to continuously happen to me, and now, on April 2nd (when I am writing this) I have decided enough is enough with. Sure, at the beginning of every New Year we all want a new start, but it never happens in reality, because we all think the same too much.

So whether I stick to this or not, here is too a new start!

Blogging more will be a must, its the only way I can get my true feelings across.

No more stupid decisions.
No more taking other peoples opinions/thoughts personally.
Be happy.
