March Favourites

Its March favourites time! And this month I've been so busy I have tended to use the same selected products continuously, and there are only a few items mentioned- but that isn't a bad thing!
MAC Studio Fix Fluid
This product is my holy grail foundation. There are many make-up artists out there that would argue that this foundation isn't all its cracked up to be, but for my pale skin, temperamental acne and oily patches, this foundation works. Teamed with a good powder and concealer, I rarely find myself topping my make-up as the day goes on. Its pricey for foundation, but for MAC, I think its pretty reasonable at £21.50.
Zoeva 104 Buffer Brush
There hasn't been a day in March where if I have worn foundation I haven't used this brush. Out of nowhere recently I found a new technique to applying foundation and this brush was the one I went to and haven't put down! Its fantastic quality and is an easy brush to use, the only downside being Zoeva brushes take forever to dry! As Zoeva is a foreign brand in the UK it can get pricey importing the brushes in, however I found a website stocking the brush for £13, which is a similar price (and quality) to Real Techniques brushes if you think about it!
Urban Decay Mrs Mia Wallace Lip Liner
I first got this lip liner along with a few other items in the collection when it first came out, including the lipstick. Now if I pair this lip liner with the lipstick (like you would think), the pair don't seem to work together on me, however the lipstick on its own if fine! I recently got Ruby Woo as a Back2Mac, and I have discovered that the lip liner with Ruby Woo is a brilliant combination leaving me to not even look or worry about my lips throughout the day.
Lush Dragons Egg Bath Bomb
I never used to like this bath bomb, then just before Christmas I went incredibly mad in Lush and bought lots, I mean lots. This was one of the many I picked up, and I haven't stopped re-purchasing it. I love citrus smells anyway, and this is overtaking favourites Avobath and Fizz banger!
Sex and The City
I am one of the many girls who wish they were Carrie Bradshaw, I adore her! I have religiously watched all the episodes and films over and over, and I am about to start the books, and I can't wait!
Keeping Up With The Kardashians
Its no secret that I love the Kardashians, its the type of programme for me that I can watch any episode at any point and not lose what's going on. As a particular fan of Khloe and Kendall, the newer series' of the programme has more of a focus on these two- I can't wait for Season 10!

The Poorly Singer

On Tuesday and Wednesday I had the chance to play Penny in Hairspray at school, a role I have been working towards since late September, and it was incredible! As a college we sold out both shows and performed to the best of our abilities- minus the fact I had to mine everything on Wednesday, yes, I was a poorly singer.

My voice completely went and would come back for all of 15 minutes every couple of hours to then go again.

However in true theatre world 'the show must go on', and it certainly did, I absolutely loved it, and the stage is where I want to be(perhaps with a voice though).

Why I haven't uploaded to YouTube for a while...

Incredibly avid readers of this blog may remember me actually posting singing covers, well there is a reason why I haven't posted one in a while.
Cut to this time last year, around the same time I originally started posting covers, I didn't have the strongest of voices, go past my break and it was very wispy, and if you continue to look through my covers you can hear a difference in my voice as they went on. Long of the short of it, I think I had a problem, I don't know what, but it wasn't right. It majorly affected my confidence and I knew I had to change.
Musical Theatre is something I am desperate to do for my future, and by September I knew that if I carried on letting my non-existent voice affect my confidence and sing like this, it wouldn't happen. So one singing lesson, I thought, what would happen if I jokingly mimicked the sound I used to make, and a noise came out!   Since then I have been training my voice to work how it used too, it definitely isn't perfect or what I want it to be, but its so much stronger than what it used to be- I love it!
So expect to see more covers being uploaded, now my voice is back I am determined to not let it go!
Let me know if there any specific songs you would like to see me cover!

In an attempt to motivate myself...

image1.JPG

I feel the picture above really does relate to me.

I was a Saturday baby, and I am a workaholic. To the point where I either stress myself out over everything and cry, or fall asleep by half past eight due to exhaustion.

I naturally suffer stress anyway, it's in my make-up and along with the nervous disposition, and this can often end in a tricky situation. The majority of the time I know what I am doing and fairly calm, however 2015 has been less than easy so far, and my patience is really starting to show.

In a nutshell, I am juggling the equivalent of 4 A Levels alongside what most people would want as a full time career, and I don't get paid for it. I'm either brainstorming, writing, singing or emailing, whilst trying to write a brochure on the different types of companies within the music industry or the impact of theatre of the absurd on an audience (both recent examples)- and let's not forget blogging....

Blogging is a hobby I LOVE. And who knows maybe one day I will be able to see this blog from a successful angle, but if that doesn't happen I will be happy, as this blog has given me so much confidence and the ability to do new things. Once my workload eventually dies down over the next few weeks, I should have more time on my hands to do more things. It's just easier to sleep for less and work more at the minute, which really isn't helping anyone- especially me!

But it's all good, because hopefully all this work will pay off one day and I can look back and say, 'It was hard, but well worth it.'

And as for a social life? One day that will happen!

MAC Isabel and Ruben Toledo Collection...

Palette L-R (Fresh Blade, Gorgeous Gold, Vicuna, Savant, Charcoal Brown & Sushigreen)

Yes. If you haven't gathered by now, I am obsessed with MAC Make-up.
The colour range is incredible in its own right, and has done things I haven't seen before.
There were a few things in the collection I saw online that I had my eye on, however I waited until it was in store at a MAC Counter, and fell in love with completely different products!
I shall save the most exciting until the end, as I have to pinch the first product I am writing about from my Mum, who got her hands on it before I did! Its the Bellgreens eye shadow palette, that features a range of greens and browns, perfect for a neutral day to night look. Four colours in the palette are limited edition (Fresh Blade, Vicuna, Savant and Sushigreen), whilst Gorgeous Gold and Charcoal Brown are stand alone colours. At £33 for set I think it is exceptional value, especially when the new Cinderella Palette is £38.50 for the majority of colours that you can buy at any time of the year...
Next up is lips, now I had been eyeing up the Oxblood lipgloss and Opera Lipstick. I got to House of Fraser and Opera didn't impress me, I found it too similar to Ruby Woo, which I happened to be wearing at the time of purchase. Oxblood lipgloss didn't disappoint me, I just found it very similar to lip-glosses I already owned. I didn't plan on looking at any other colours, however it wasn't until Barbecue caught my eye I realised how desperate I was for a matte orange shade! Yes it makes my teeth look yellow-er, but I can live with that for a pretty lip shade.
And last, but definitely not least, consistent readers will know I am gradually growing to love blushers and bronzers, and I only managed to grab Ripe Peach. Yes you read that correctly, Ripe Peach. The store assistant who was serving my Mum had been talking about the range, and my Mum mentioned how I was starting to love colour on the cheeks and had seen the blush online. Due to its popularity I just presumed it would be sold out, however I got one of the few Plymouth stocked! Its definitely one of my best purchases of 2015 yet!
Did you get your hands on any of this collection? What is your favourite? Let me know!!

Guess who got her hands on MAC Cinderella...

As a self confessed make-up and Disney lover, when MAC announced the Cinderella collection, I knew I had to have it.
Being a student, I don't have the money to buy the whole collection, nor do I want it, as there a number of items similar to what MAC regularly sells which I could buy at anytime.
I have a rule when it comes to MAC Collections, look for limited edition colours/pieces over rebrands. I chose three products, the two pigments and a lipstick.
The packaging is somewhat similar to the usual MAC branding, however the traditional black was substituted for a pale blue colour with a non-matte finish and gold/bronze writing.
The lipstick shade I chose was Royal Ball, which is a pinky-nude colour that I would describe as a brighter version of patisserie without washing your skin out.
The two pigments are 'Pretty It Up', as olive/bronze shade, and 'Evil Stepmother', a purple shade with black undertones. I am a HUGE fan of MAC Pigments on my eyes, they last all day. I also have grey/blue eyes which means I can get away with wearing most colours on my eyes, so I cant wait to experiment with them!
So Maleficent was the previous Disney collection, and its also recently been announced that a remake of Beauty and the Beast will be the next live action Disney Princess movie, I hope MAC release a collection for this!
What Disney Princess would you like to feature their own MAC Collection?

For the love of ClaireaBella

This is a post I have been meaning to write since I have started my blog, as I love these things lots...and I mean lots!

Claireabella bags are unique straw bags designed to look like cartoon version of ourselves- and I love them to pieces, all four of mine!

My first bag was one I got for Christmas 2013, the Bikini beach bag ready for a holiday I never went on, this was in the large size and probably my most used up until recently.

I then purchased a medium bag in the 'posh' design, simply because I thought it would be practical in later life.

Fast forward to January 2015 and two new additions I have wanted from the start have arrived, a large bag in the 'relaxed' design perfect for days where I'm wearing jeans and not doing much else. Finally, the kids medium ballerina bag, perfect to keep my dance gear in.

I have also gone through a notebook that is personalised in the exact same way! There's so much to choose from and that's why I love this brand so much!

Check them out!

Dear Diary 10: Change

Learning to accept change is something as humans we can often struggle with, and I am definitely one of them.

So many different emotions can trigger your thoughts into wanting a specific path, and when you need to see things a different way its often confusing and difficult, but you just need to embrace it and try to move on- something I am currently attempting to do.

Change is difficult when you can't come to grips with what you need to change, but once you have, everything will be easier.
