HAPPY 1ST BIRTHDAY blondeandblank!

On the 19th February 2014, I wrote my first blogpost, which went a little like this:
'Hello and welcome to!

Wow! My first ever blog post. For me, this is huge, purely as I have been planning loads of ideas related to this blog since July last year!

I decided this blog post would be purely dedicated to a little bit of information about me, and why I made ‘blondeandblank’.

My name is Beki, I am 16 and I come from Plymouth, in the UK. I often describe myself as a typical blonde, girly girl who really doesn’t have a clue about what is going on in her day to day life.

I am currently studying AS Levels in Media, Music and Performing Arts, and in the future hope to have a career involving Music & the Arts- (don’t ask me what though, hence the ‘no clue with what’s going on with her life!’)

I decided to make my blog for two reasons;

1)      I wanted to link it with my new YouTube channel (I don’t want to be known as being another ‘YouTuber’ though!)

I had a channel a couple of years ago that featured 2 singing covers on it, but I deleted the channel because I didn’t want anything to do with it anymore(plus loads of people I didn’t want knowing about it found out and it upset me- kind of defeats the object considering so many people use the internet!)Since then, I am past caring what people think about me, and I hope this brings my confidence up a little bit!

2)      I am pretty much open with everyone about my life, one of my habits that loads of people seem to know about is that I talk to myself- so to try and stop talking to myself (as much), blogging/vlogging seems like a fun thing to do!

Most people who ‘blog/vlog’ usually do it as a way to relax or get rid of emotions/feelings. This is also part of my reason, as well as starting to post some singing covers and general videos on YouTube, purely because I enjoy watching them, and figured someone else might as well!

So as this blog post comes to an end, I want to mention again that I do have a YouTube Channel, except I haven’t uploaded anything on to it yet, as every attempt of a video I have filmed I haven’t liked when it comes to editing, although I promise I will upload soon!

Leading me on to say that one year ago I was in a completely different place and that I now know what I want to do with my life, and I would say a good 70% of that was due to the confidence I have gained throughout this blog.
I mentioned a while ago that one day I would write the real reasons as to why I would start this blog, I don't think I am fully comfortable yet, its all written, I just don't feel ready to hit publish.

This blog may not have millions of readers, but the little number is still more than I ever expected and I am so, so grateful for that. Especially as more often than not I don't get to post as much as I want.

She says once again with doubt and uncertainty- I can assure you that there will be more posts on here soon as the year goes on, I love this blog lots and have so many ideas, I just need the time to write them down!

All I really need to say now is thank you. Thank you if you have ready every single blogpost, or if this is your first one, you really are helping me grow as a person.

Writers Block

Generally, I would describe myself as a creative person, whether we are talking about this on a day to day basis or in a performing/writing context.

Throughout February I have struggled to keep 'blogging', not because of a time frame, simply down to the fact I didn't know what to write about. I may have made loads of notes in my notebook, but in reality they were posts that I want to post, just not right now.

Hence where a previous post about apologies came from, it took over 20 minutes to write simply because I didn't know what too write.

I always say I feel as if I should be apologising, especially as the posts this month have been a little sparse.

Sorry again, and thanks if you are reading!

Speak soon,

Review: Reasons Why I #LoveTanya

I am fairly certain that if you are reading my blog, you may have heard of the lovely lady that is Tanya Burr. I have been a fan of Tanya for years and when I knew her book was coming out, I had to get my hands on it.
I have had the copy for a couple of weeks, but I am only now getting around to writing the post- forgive me!
I am going to try and keep this post fairly short, but there really are so many things I love about this book, I don't think it will be possible!
I shall start with the photographs, some of which were professionally shot, others either taken by Tanya or found in family albums. All the photos were relevant to her life, and if anything it made me realise I should take so many more photos of my life- else I will have nothing to remember in the years too come!
I also love the fact that every chapter is relevant to Tanya's career or life. Sure, we may only see 15-20 minutes of her day when she is vlogging, but whatever we see online is clearly printed in this book. The different sections on fitness, baking, growing up, make-up, hair, confidence and others were all approached so honestly, I loved it.
Another touch I found very heart warming was the option to list your favourite things in each chapter, I don't think I will be doing it in my copy of the book, however I may still list my top 10s in a different notebook.
The chapters I found most appealing to me was Growing up Part 2 and YouTube, simply because I was fascinated to see Tanya's take on things over the years. I liked reading about her jobs before YouTube and in hindsight more than likely wouldn't be where she is today without it. I then tried to imagine life without YouTube and bloggers/vloggers, and I just couldn't do it, because if it wasn't for people like Tanya, I wouldn't be typing this today.
For me the part that spoke the most to me was the way it was written. If I haven't mentioned before (but I think I have), I have so many goals and aspirations in life that I want and need to accomplish, involving both my love of musical theatre and make-up. You can tell that Tanya has always had the get up and go to follow her dreams and achieve something many amazing things with her life, and that this book really came from the heart.
The only thing I am remotely sad about is that there isn't a book signing to go to anywhere close to where I live! (Plymouth problems...)
On that note I shall sign off now!
Have any of you read Love Tanya? What did you think of it?

Dear Diary 9: Apologies...

Dear Diary,

Over the past week, if there is one thing I have realised, it is never to feel guilty for things that never happened in your head. It will only mess with you more.

'I'm sorry for not sorting my books'

'I'm sorry for never baking those cupcakes'

'I'm sorry for not writing those blog posts I wanted to write'

Unless the thoughts in your head specifically affect someone else, don't ever get angry with yourself for something not happening. Things take time, and if you want something bad enough, you will work for it and it will happen.
