Quick/Easy Doll Halloween Make-Up

Before and after!

Quick Doll Halloween look!

Okay so here is the drill, if you are anything like me chances are you don’t tend to celebrate Halloween and then often get invited to something last minute and think, poop what do I do? Whilst I am not going anywhere this year, the rule in our household is you aren’t allowed to get excited for Christmas until after Bonfire night, therefore in my little brain I decided by doing this tutorial I am one step closer to celebrating Christmas!

This make-up look took me approximately 10-15 minutes, which may not seem very quick, but I would like to add I was improvising all throughout the making of this look, and I hope my 4 fairly easy steps and instructions help you!

 You need:

·         white face paint or talc!

·         Black Liquid and Pencil eyeliner

·         Mascara

·         Pink Blush

·         Red Lippy

·         False eyelashes (optional)

·         Any eye shadow you wish your doll too wear (I recommend blue)

Step 1

Apply your whitening device all over the face, making it as even as possible…and then apply blush on the apples of the cheeks, don’t go sparingly, but remember, dolls were meant to look pretty and dainty, not ott like you’re an extra in TOWIE.

Step 2

Do your eye shadow over exaggerated, think Barbie/pageant queen esque. Using either your liquid or pencil eyeliner, draw on how you want your eyeliner above your eyelashes to be, I opted for a flick. I also added pencil in my waterline. Apply mascara and lashes if you wish.

Step 3

Put on your red lipstick, avoiding your cupids bow (don’t worry if you do hit it though…) Outline your lips with your black pencil liner, accentuating any points you wish.

Step 4

You can then take your liquid liner and draw on any cracks, stiches etc you want to add, if you have time you can even try to draw a line at the top to make it look as if you’re wearing a mask.

That’s it! I hope you found this simple, like I said, I managed this improvising in around 15 minutes, however don’t stress if you go wrong or it takes you a little longer!

Have a fabulous Halloween!

Anxiety Chat & Zoella Beauty

Any girl (or boy) who watches beauty videos most probably would have heard of Zoella. I came across Zoe in 2012 but didn’t become an avid watcher until 2013. Like many girls I felt I could relate to Zoe in more ways than the obvious, for a start I am also from the South West as well- I’m just a little bit more southern! I am also very pale, I would say Zoe is a little darker than me, but nevertheless I can watch her and think, that should look good on me.
However the most obvious comparison is probably similarity in mental health issues, whilst I have never been formally diagnosed with depression or anxiety, the symptoms are there and have been for many years. Fortunately, I can handle it fairly well, however I tend to feel my most anxious before something happens, and that’s when I start to panic, if I am in the situation with people I am comfortable with, I am fine.
Anyway, enough on me and on to the beauty. When Zoella announced she was going to be releasing a beauty line, I knew I had to get my hands on it. Initially, I could see a Plymouth store on the list of stores for the products being sold in, which meant waiting for all the products I wanted to be in stock at the same time – aka one month later! The day the delivery arrives I pop into Superdrug to try and pick up some of Tanya’s new lashes, and low and behold, Zoella products in Superdrug! I literally didn’t know whether to laugh and cry.
I ordered the fizz bar, soak opera and candle, all of which I can give reviews about. She describes her scents as gentle vanilla and sweet flowers, and the combination of the two work brilliantly together. (Is it weird I imagine her to smell of this all the time now?) I first of all started using my candle, and I haven’t stopped lighting it, there is just something very relaxing about watching a candle burn.
The next bath I took (that sounds like I haven’t washed for a while- I have!) I chose to use the fizz bar and soak opera, and honestly, it’s up there with my love of lush products. Usually, bath bars that aren’t lush disappoint me because they aren’t as good in my opinion, but this was! Mixed with the soak opera to make a bubble bath it was the perfect bath after a morning of running and exercise (yuck), but all three products are on my too buy again list!

The Urban Decay Vice 3 Palette...

nice finger prints...

with and without flash!
I was super excited when a lady on the Urban Decay counter told me a few weeks ago that the new Vice 3 Palette was making an appearance in featuring weeks. And on Saturday, I was able to get my hands on it, and OH MY GOSH *insert heart eyes emoji*
The colours are incredible, literally. The back of the packaging explains that the colours are all velvety, and with any combination, the perfect smokey eye is easy.
Containing 20 colours, this palette is definitely going to be my go to travel palette over the coming months, there is literally a colour for every occasion.
The first row is made up of neutrals with a hint of shimmer, placing Truth all over the eye, blend any of Undone, Downfall or DTF on the outer of the eye to make the perfect for a day natural/smokey brown eye.
The second row is made up of an emerald green named Dragon, two shades of blue, Freeze (light ice blue) and Heroine (deep navy blue) and a brown with gold tones called Brokedown. These colours instantly reminded me of water and the sea, and being an avid mermaid lover, this was perfect!
The middle row in my opinion is a step up from the first row, and if the palette fitted in your bag, these would be the colours you would add to your day look to make your night look. Vanity is a burgundy colour that will look AMAZING on anyone with hints of green in their eyes. Lucky and Reign are two shades of brown that contain red and gold tones beneath them.  Bobby Dazzle without a doubt is my favourite colour in this line, as it’s a white shimmer shadow that’s faultless wherever placed, and in my opinion, a better version of Forgery shadow or Vanilla Pigment from MAC.
Alien, Alchemy, Bondage and Sonic are all on the fourth row, and are all red toned colours, particular favourites of mine, especially in autumn. This row is probably my favourite in the palette, combined with Bobbly Dazzle and Revolver, makes a perfect autumn eye.
The final row could also be used to make a night look, but only if you want a strong, dark and sexy smokey eye. Last Sin very much reminds me of Midnight Cowboy from Urban Decay, and is very shimmery! Angel is a taupe-brown colour with a similar shimmer to Last Sin, whilst Defy is a cross between a taupe and chocolate brown. Revolver is a jet black colour that has hints of shimmer, and with any colours on the palette, makes a perfect smokey look.
All in all, it’s an A+++ for the Vice 3 Palette, my only little downfall being as they are shimmery and close together, I have a feeling some fall out may happen and spread over each colour!
Have you tried the Vice 3 Palette yet? Let me know your thoughts!

Dear Diary #4: When things don't go to plan

Dear Diary,

I have a confession, this month something spectacular, that I have spent lots of the year planning was meant to happen, and it hasn’t. Am I upset? Yes. Am I giving up? No.
I am more frustrated than I am upset, purely because it’s such a slow process that still fully isn’t happening yet, nevertheless, by it not happening, I am getting more time to think about how to make this blog, the project, and my life better.

This post is symbolising a new me, everybody at some stage says that they are turning over a new leaf to make things better- I have said this so many times, and now I need to stick to it.

To conclude, when things follow the right path, follow the new path instead....

Ummm....

So October Blogging hasn't exactly to plan,
but not to worry, as I have planned and started to write many a blogpost to post frequently in November, and possibly everyday in December!
This post is really again an apology one from me saying, 'whoops, I can't really call blogging a hobby...'

September Favourites!

Hello again!

Todays post is purely dedicated to my favourites of September with a few from August that I forgot to write about!

Starting with beauty, I have managed to find a high street foundation with good coverage and is long lasting, whilst still suitable for my porcelain skin tone- its the Revlon Colourstay foundation in the shade 110 Ivory. Usually with any other brand, Ivory would be way too dark for me. I stumbled across this foundation after having my make-up done at the No.7 counter in Boots, and being unable to find a foundation for my skin tone, the make-up artist suggested I try this foundation. All I can say is that I love it, its a little less coverage than my MAC Studio Fix Fluid, and whilst it doesn't last as long at the MAC one, its perfect for a no-makeup make-up look when you are having a good skin day.

If you read my post about my Chanel lipstick purchase, this next item may interest you. When I went to London I started using the Soap and Glory Brow Tint and Precision shaping in the colour Brownie Points. The reason I am redirecting you to the Chanel post is I used the product, and it made my eyebrows look so much more alive than what they do naturally. The colour is slightly too light for me, as my eyebrows naturally are similar to a taupe-y shade, however using more of the ink side as apposed to the pencil side gives me the colour I like.

So ages ago I mentioned I hated this product, and then I fell in love with it, its the Soap and Glory Sexy Mother Pucker gloss stick in Nudist. All through September this has been my go to  nude lip product, and I don't really have anything else to say on it!

Urban Decay released their Pulp Fiction collection late August/early September, and I absolutely love it, purchasing everything bar the nail polish (post coming soon!) and one thing I have particularly been loving is the eye shadow palette. As a fan of a smokey eye, this palette is great for creating a really easy smokey eye look. Tyranny is my favourite colour in the palette purely for its terracotta/red toned base. For people with blue eyes, red toned eye colours are good at making your eyes pop, and this is the colour that I have been using the most in the palette.

The other day I was walking through Next, when I was given  a sample of one of their perfumes Midnight, and oh my goodness, the smell is heaven. I am usually not a fan of really strong scented perfumes, and tend to go for more floral and fruity smells. However this perfume (as shown on the cardboard) has tones of orange/mandarin and sandalwood, two of my most favourite smells in the whole world. As mentioned, I only got the sample, however I will be purchasing a full size bottle soon.

Lastly, but certainly not least, I have been loving drinking hot drinks throughout September, these being either Hot Chocolate with Hazelnut syrup- tasting just like Kinder Bueno. The other being a fruit tea from Asda, which I have been drinking more to help my voice. The flavours of the tea are Lemon, Mango and Ginger, and is a good alternative to Lemon and Honey, which I cant drink due to a silly lavender allergy.

That's all for today- see you soon!
